Privacy Policy for AgentGuard

Thank you for using AgentGuard ("we", "our", or "the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how AgentGuard handles information when you use our macOS application.

Key Principle: AgentGuard operates entirely on your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers.

1. Information We Collect

AgentGuard is designed as a local-first application. We do not collect, upload, or transmit any personal information to external servers.

The following data is processed exclusively on your device:

2. Data You Optionally Provide

2.1 AI Analysis Feature (User-Configured)

AgentGuard offers an optional AI-powered analysis feature that requires you to provide:

LLM API Key — Your own API key for services like DeepSeek, OpenAI, or other compatible providers
API Base URL — The endpoint URL of your chosen LLM service

This information is:

Stored only on your Mac in the app's sandbox container
Used only when you explicitly trigger an AI analysis action
Transmitted directly from your Mac to your chosen LLM provider — we never see or relay this data
Subject to the privacy policy of your chosen LLM provider

Important: We do not operate any AI servers. All AI requests go directly from your Mac to the LLM provider you configure. We have no access to your API keys or the data sent to LLM providers.

2.2 No Account Required

AgentGuard does not require you to create an account, sign up, or provide any personal identification information.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

All app data is stored in your Mac's Application Support directory within the app sandbox container:

~/Library/Containers/com.aimaccleaner.app/Data/Library/Application Support/AIMacCleaner/

3.2 Data Retention

Operation records and lifecycle events are retained until you clear them within the app
Hourly statistics are retained for trend analysis until you clear them
Configuration data (rules, settings) persists until you modify or delete it
Uninstalling the app removes all stored data

3.3 Security Measures

App Sandbox enabled — the app runs in a restricted environment with minimal system access
Security-scoped bookmarks used for file monitoring — access limited to user-authorized directories
Local-only Agent Center listener — the app may listen on localhost or a Unix domain socket so AI agent hooks on your Mac can send approval requests to the app; it does not accept internet-facing connections
Hardened runtime enabled — prevents dynamic code injection

4. Network Access

AgentGuard uses network access only for the following purposes:

No other network connections are made by AgentGuard. The app does not include any analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or third-party data collection services.

5. Third-Party Services

AgentGuard does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only external services involved are:

Apple Mac App Store — For app distribution and updates, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
Your chosen LLM provider — Only if you configure the optional AI analysis feature, subject to that provider's privacy policy

6. File System Access

AgentGuard monitors file system activity in user directories (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.) to track AI agent operations. This access is:

Used solely for displaying file operation audit trails to you
Never transmitted externally
Implemented using macOS FSEventStream API with security-scoped bookmarks
Revocable by disabling the Operation Monitor in Settings

7. Children's Privacy

AgentGuard does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ on the Mac App Store and does not include any features directed at children.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have full control over your data:

View — All collected data is visible within the app's interface
Delete — You can clear operation records, lifecycle events, and statistics at any time from within the app
Disable — You can disable monitoring features (Operation Monitor, Hardware Monitor, Sensor Monitor) in Settings
Uninstall — Removing the app deletes all locally stored data
AI Feature — You can remove your API key at any time to disable AI analysis

9. International Users

AgentGuard is available globally. Since all data is processed and stored locally on your Mac, no data crosses international borders through our systems. If you use the optional AI analysis feature, data transmission to your chosen LLM provider may involve cross-border transfers subject to that provider's privacy policy.

10. Compliance

GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation)

As AgentGuard does not collect or process personal data on our servers, most GDPR obligations do not apply to our processing activities. Your data stays on your device under your control.

CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)

We do not sell, share, or disclose personal information as defined by CCPA, as we do not collect such information.

Apple App Store Requirements

We comply with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and privacy requirements, including the App Privacy Declaration.

11. Privacy Declaration (Apple App Store)

No data is collected from this app by us or by third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Local process records, file operation records, token statistics, and approval history remain on your device and are used only to provide App functionality. If you choose to configure an external AI provider, selected analysis content is sent directly from your Mac to the provider you choose, under that provider's terms and privacy policy.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App Store update notes or within the app. Your continued use of AgentGuard after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
